What we do

The Elections Committee is a special committee to be composed of up to 5 members in good financial standing.  The elections committee is elected by the general membership for the purpose of conducting chapter elections.  Once the elections committee is established the members of the elections committee nominates it's chair.

 

During the election and after the nominations committee completes their presentation of the slate of accepted nominees. The elections committee will prepare the ballot and invite members to vote. 


After the ballot closes, the Election committee will tally the votes and report the results and close the election process.

about the Offices - nomination

President. The President shall serve as Chair of the Executive Committee and shall be ex-officio member of all committees except nominating and election committees. In addition, the President shall chair chapter meetings and guide the implementation of programs which have been approved by the membership; shall recommend to the membership changes in programs and procedures; shall present the chapter's annual activities and accomplishments report; countersign with the Treasurer or 1st Vice President (in absence of the Treasurer) checks drawn on the chapter's treasury; shall receive reports on activities of the various committees; and shall make appointments as necessary. Shall perform other duties as signed by the Executive Committee or the chapter. CURRENT INCUMBENT – MS. LASHANDA JONES, ELIGIBLE FOR RE-ELECTION. TERM FOR POSITION IS JANUARY 2022- DECEMBER 2023



2nd Vice President. In the absence of the President or 1st Vice President in the event of disability of the President, the 2nd Vice President shall perform all the duties and functions of the President. During such a period, the 2nd Vice President shall have all the powers of and be subject to all the restrictions placed upon the President; and shall perform other duties as assigned by the Executive Committee or the Chapter. The 2nd Vice President will chair the Membership Committee unless a chair has been appointed. CURRENT INCUMBENT – MS. TAMMIE PERRY, ELIGIBLE FOR RE-ELECTION. TERM FOR POSITION IS JANUARY 2022- DECEMBER 2023


Secretary. The Secretary shall maintain a record of the proceedings of the organization; shall produce such records upon request; and shall read the minutes of the previous meeting at each Executive Committee and chapter meeting. Shall perform other duties as assigned by the Executive Committee or the chapter. Shall report on incoming correspondence.  CURRENT INCUMBENT – MS. LATRICE SMITH, ELIGIBLE FOR RE-ELECTION. – TERM FOR POSITION IS JANUARY 2022- DECEMBER 2023

what we do

The Nominations Committee is a special committee to be composed of up to 5 members in good financial standing.  The nominations committee is elected by the general membership for the purpose of conducting chapter elections.  Once the nominations committee is established the members of the nominations committee nominates it's chair.


Nominations for chapter officers may be submitted to the Nominations Committee at least (3) weeks prior to the election or may be made from the floor at the chapter meeting held for the election of officers.  


The nominations committee will decide on a date to end the nomination period and shall distribute a list of all known candidates to the chapter membership prior to the election.   


During the election the nominations committee chair shall state the name of nominees and shall also open up the floor for nominations.  Any nominations received, accepted and verified from the floor will be entered on the election ballot form.


The election ballot form will be activated after the nominations period ends.
